Our Nevada Pregnancy Care and Services

Genetic Testing

Knowing your child’s potential for inherited conditions can be critical in their long-term health. Genetic screenings can help detect potential issues sooner.

Noninvasive Prenatal Testing

Our doctors can perform testing using small fragments of DNA circulating in your blood, avoiding the need for testing measures that could be dangerous to your fetus.

Preterm Delivery

Our doctors are specially trained and will evaluate your risk for early labor. You can rest assured knowing we will be prepared should your child be born early.

Prenatal Care

Monitoring your baby’s development and performing routine testing helps our staff keep you and your baby healthy throughout pregnancy.

Postpartum Care

We help new moms manage both the physical and emotional changes associated with childbirth, providing the tools you need to keep you and your newborn healthy through the formative first months.

Treatment of Cervical Insufficiency

Our doctors are specially trained to identify at-risk pregnancies and perform treatment that can help manage issues associated with cervical insufficiency, including cervical cerclage.

Gestational Diabetes Management

Early detection during your routine prenatal care screenings can allow your doctor to help you manage gestational diabetes and reduce the likelihood of complications during delivery.

Trial of Labor After Cesarean Section/ VBAC

If you have previously given birth by cesarean section, we’ll work with you to determine whether a vaginal birth can safely work for you.

What to Expect During Your First Prenatal Visit

Typically, your first prenatal visit is in your eighth week of pregnancy. You may want to schedule an appointment as soon as you know you are expecting. Read more to learn what to expect during your first appointment.

Why Intermountain Care for Pregnancy Care

In our efforts to raise the bar in women’s health, Intermountain Health established OB/GYN hospitalist programs throughout the Las Vegas Valley to ensure that one of our caring providers is available to our Nevada patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

With these programs, you will continue normal office visits with your established provider. Should a medical concern arise, an Intermountain Health laborist will be available at Spring Valley Hospital, Centennial Hospital, and MountainView Hospital to address your time-sensitive needs.

What is a laborist?

OB hospitalists, also known as laborists, are board-certified OB/GYNs who are stationed at hospital locations and dedicated to delivering babies or responding to urgent obstetrical needs.

When do you need a laborist?

Pregnancy, labor, and delivery are all unpredictable and require specialized care the moment you need it. Laborists within our Intermountain Health network are all trained and aligned with our OB/GYN physicians, ensuring that your care and delivery are provided holistically.

What are the benefits of a laborist program?

Women’s care models with laborist programs reduce labor induction rates and preterm births because they ensure the birth plan you’ve discussed with your obstetrician are kept top of mind. Intermountain Health built a laborist program that focuses our women’s care model on quality, timely, and coordinated care.

Our Laborist Team

We know that having peace of mind during your delivery comes from working with care teams who provide both deep expertise and genuinely caring interactions. That’s why our laborist program hires personable, highly skilled providers for the delivery and obstetrical emergency services.
