Our Commitment to Our Community
Giving back to our communities is important to us. We volunteer hundreds of hours each year with Service Squad, the community service arm of our organization. We were recently honored as Health Care Hero 2018 Volunteer of the Year for our dedication and assistance after the October 2017 mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip. We’re expanding our efforts with several local events, from working with kids to veterans to seniors. Nationally, we plan to expand our philanthropic presence during natural disasters and state of emergency calls around the country.

Kirk Miller
Interim President & Chief Operating Officer
Kirk previously worked for John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, California where he oversaw a $1.5 billion integrated health system as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the physician network. In this capacity, he transformed and served as a “key vehicle for growth” in ambulatory services and the expansion of the system and network footprint. With oversight of the integrated network of physicians and associated IPA, Mr. Miller established an MSO within the network and urgent care practices. Prior to that role, he served as Vice President at Excela Health, Inc. in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Mr. Miller is skilled at establishing operational excellence within culturally diverse environments, executing healthcare business strategies, and improving operations and patient experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Tennessee and is a Master of Business Administration from the Jack. C. Massey Graduate School of Business at Belmont University. He is married with two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, the outdoors, and photography. Mr. Miller’s extensive experience plays a key role in helping HealthCare Partners Nevada continue to provide high-quality, coordinated care throughout Southern Nevada.
Bard Coats, MD, MBA
President Emeritus
Dr. Bard Coats comes to HealthCare Partners Nevada with more than 30 years of experience in the medical community. Before joining HealthCare Partners Nevada as Market President, Dr. Coats spent much of his medical career as a practicing general internist in Northern California, held various leadership roles with PacifiCare, and most recently was Chief Medical officer of UnitedHealthcare’s Southwest & Pacific regions. Dr. Coats received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Oklahoma City University, his M.D. at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He obtained his Executive MBA at the University of California, Irvine in 1998. Dr. Coats is board-certified in Internal Medicine and holds licenses in Nevada, California, and Arizona. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and the American College of Physicians. He is a past member of the Medical Group Management Association. He has also been a member of the Clark County Medical Society, the Nevada State Medical Association and the Nevada Association of Managed Care Physicians. He is a past officer in the Nevada Association of Health Plans and Nevadans for Affordable Health Care. Dr. Coats has served on the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Heart Association from 1999 through 2004 and was President of the Board in 2001. Dr. Coats resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his wife, Dr. Stacie Rivers. They have 6 children and 6 grandchildren. He is an avid tennis player & enjoys music, backpacking, reading and traveling.

Ama Brobbey, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Ama Brobbey leads overall strategies for the quality and improvement of HealthCare Partners Nevada’s clinical outcomes. She also oversees the education, performance, recruitment, and retention of the organization’s physicians in Nevada. Dr. Brobbey brings extensive experience in the medical field to her role as Chief Medical Officer. Previously, she served as medical director for HealthCare Partners Nevada’s inpatient team. She also led the organization’s primary care team. Throughout the past several years, Dr. Brobbey has successfully managed HealthCare Partners Nevada’s hospitalist and post-acute programs, achieving significant growth for the organization. She has also been instrumental in helping HealthCare Partners Nevada reach its quality and utilization goals. Prior to joining HealthCare Partners Nevada, Dr. Brobbey worked as a primary care physician in Ghana. She earned her medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School and completed her residency at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. She became board certified in internal medicine in 2003.
Warren Volker, MD, PhD, MS, FACOG

Dr. Volker joined DaVita Medical Group in May of 2017 through the merger of WellHealth Quality Care & MedSource Medical Management. He was the founder and CEO of WellHealth Quality Care since its inception in 2011. WellHealth operated one of the largest multispecialty medical groups in Southern Nevada with just over 108 providers along with the largest accountable care IPA networks representing more than 4,000 providers. MedSource provided MSO services along with comprehensive healthcare management and technology services. Prior to that, Dr. Volker was the managing partner of Women’s Specialty Care, LLP for 10 years. Dr. Volker is a well-known entrepreneur. He has launched several companies over the past 17 years of his career in the healthcare, technology and insurance industry. Dr. Volker has extensive knowledge in health plan modeling, population health and risk-based managed care. Dr. Volker is a recognized researcher. He is subspecialized and certified as a minimally invasive and robotic pelvic surgeon. Dr. Volker is on faculty at the UNLV School of Medicine, Touro University, and Harbor-UCLA. He was the first Nevada physician to ever receive the Arnold P. Gould National Leadership Award in medicine and business. Dr. Volker provides free medical care to Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada. He has supported and traveled to Puerto Rico, South America and Mexico on medical missions. Dr. Volker has more than 14 years of hospital leadership experience. He is the chief of staff at Centennial Hills Hospital since its opening in 2008. Prior to that, he was the chairman of the Education and Maternal Child Department at Summerlin Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Volker’s recognition includes being named as a TOP ONE HUNDRED US News and World Report physicians. Dr. Volker is on the board of UNLV Foundation and Tyler Robinson Foundation and a member of One World Surgery, providing mission-based surgical care in Honduras.

Sloan Albert MHA, FACHE, VP of Operations
VP of Operations
Sloan Albert joined HealthCare Partners as Vice President of Operations in 2018. In this capacity she oversees the strategic planning, financial performance, compensation modeling and operations for the Nevada division. With more than three decades of healthcare industry experience, she was recruited from Genesis HealthCare System in Zanesville, Ohio where her duties included operations, recruitment and acquisition for 190 multi-specialty providers across 28 locations. Prior to that she served as president and CEO of the Mount Carmel Medical Group in Columbus, Ohio, overseeing operations for 180 multi-specialty physicians in 40 locations. Ms. Albert holds a master’s degree in health care administration from Ohio State University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. In her free time, she and her husband, Doug, and their two daughters spend time with their multitude of pets from Great Danes to geckos. An avid reader, Ms. Albert loves to immerse herself in a good book, particularly a great mystery novel.
