Mekdelawit Aschenaki, MD

Dr. Mekdelawit Aschenaki joined Intermountain Health to provide quality cardiovascular care to the community. Her clinical interests include women’s cardiovascular health and preventive cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and management of heart failure patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr. Aschenaki is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty certification in Cardiovascular Disease and by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Her experience includes echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. She has worked as a non-invasive cardiologist/consultant, an assistant clinical professor in osteopathic medicine, and a pharmacist. She earned her MD at Rush University Medical School in Chicago; held a cardiology fellowship at Tulane University in New Orleans; a residency in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center; earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Creighton University in Omaha; and BS in Chemistry and Biology from College of Southern Nevada. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, Ro Chi Pharmaceutical Honorary Society, and the Massachusetts Medical Society.

In her free time, Dr. Aschenaki enjoys reading, running, horseback riding, travel, and spending time with her children.
