Dr. Mark Vellek brings more than 30 years of practice experience to his position with Intermountain Healthcare. He joined our team because he identifies with our philosophy of providing the best in patient care. He enjoys seeing and helping patients and watching them pursue healthier lifestyles.

Dr. Vellek was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his father, and he says he knew he wanted to be a physician since he was three years old. He began his journey by earning a BS in microbiology followed by his MD from the University of Minnesota. He did his residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and did a fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology, Oncology, and Internal medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Vellek enjoys spending time with his family and taking care of his 89-year-old mother. He also enjoys biking, running marathons, hiking, and photography.
