Originally from the Central Valley of sunny California, Lisa Gartin has worked in women’s health for over 15 years. She has worked as a childbirth educator, birth doula, and lactation counselor, all roles in which she enjoyed being able to support expecting and parenting families. Later, asher four children got older, she decided to continue her education and made her dream of becoming a certified midwife a reality.
At Intermountain Healthcare, formerly HealthCare Partners Nevada, Mrs. Gartin believes each woman and family is unique and therefore their care should be as well. Her care philosophy is that healthcare should be a partnership of informed decision-making, where physiologic birth and breastfeeding are the norm. She welcomes women at all stages of life and believes that all women of all backgrounds can benefit from midwifery care.
Mrs. Gartin has years of experience delivering babies in both a hospital setting and freestanding birth center, leading her to work diligently to bridge the art and science behind midwifery. When she is not busy working in the clinic, Mrs. Gartinenjoys spending time exploring all of the natural beauty that surrounds Las Vegas with her husband and two boys that still live at home.
Mrs. Gartin earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. She graduated from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California with her Associates Degree in Nursing and certified as a Registered Nurse. She is board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. Mrs. Gartin also holds certifications as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and as a Certified Lactation Counselor.
