Dr. Volker is a researcher, educator, surgeon, and innovator. He is a pioneer in the area of minimally invasive surgery and an expert on women’s health issues including fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, prolapse, overactive bladder, pelvic floor and incontinence disorders, menopause, and intimate pain with sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Volker brings more than 19 years of healthcare practice experience to his position with Intermountain Healthcare. He is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where his focus is on minimally invasive and robotic (MIGS) gynecology/ pelvic reconstruction surgery. He is a member of American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons, and American Medical Association. He is licensed in Nevada, California, Arizona, and Florida.
Dr. Volker earned his MD and PhD from the University of North Dakota and did his residency in OB/GYN surgery at University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also holds an Executive MBA in healthcare administration/management from Johns Hopkins University and an MS in biochemistry and BBA in finance management from University of North Dakota. Dr. Volker has lectured at numerous prestigious universities nationwide. He previously was a faculty member at Harbor-UCLA School of Medicine and now serves as a professor in the OB/GYN department of the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
