Katherine Tinajero joined Intermountain Healthcare because she knew from the very beginning of her application process that we genuinely care about employees and patients alike. She likes that she is allowed to spend 30 minutes with each patient to ensure quality care is delivered to a complex and delicate geriatric patient population.
Merely interacting with patients brings her immense joy, and the peak of her job satisfaction is when she is able to recognize a patient’s empowerment through enhanced self-care as result of the education and care she provides. She enjoys cases that require particularly careful attention, whether it be a complex case or a patient who has had one or more horrible experiences with their healthcare and just needs someone who can show them that they can and should receive both quality and compassionate care.
Mrs. Tinajero was raised by her collective family who immigrated from Laos. She is a first-generation American. Her upbringing taught her the virtues of humility, hard work, self-discipline, honesty, integrity, and caring for others, especially our elders, which is what set her on the path to becoming a PA.
