Dr. Karyn Ofa was attracted to the Intermountain Health team because of our emphasis on quality patient care.
Dr. Ofa grew up in Southern California, and after working as a Medical Technologist in Arizona she decided to become a physician. She has served as Physician Hospitalist and Primary Care Physician in Internal Medicine at Kaiser Permanente’s Sunnyside Hospital in Clackamas, Oregon, where she established a delirium monitoring program; as a Medical Technologist and Microbiologist in Tucson, Arizona; and as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Tonga.
Dr. Ofa earned her BS in Biology at California State University Fullerton. She went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale and did her Internal Medicine Residency at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
When she’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Ofa enjoys flower gardening, traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family and dogs.
