John Sayler brings more than three decades of experience in internal medicine, plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, and oncology hematology to his position with Intermountain Healthcare. He believes that cancer care is not episodic, but requires a lifetime marathon of care, and that survivorship is most important.
Mr. Sayler grew up on a small cattle ranch in southwest Oklahoma, which taught him the value of self-reliance and self-confidence. He also served 15 years in the US Air Force in Special Operations Para-Rescue before embarking on his career in medicine. He has worked for many healthcare organizations in Nevada, including Eureka County Medical Clinic, Summit Family Healthcare Center, Nevada Cancer Centers, and University of California San Diego Nevada Cancer Institute. He refers to his research collaborations as too numerous to count.
Mr. Sayler earned his PA degree from University of California Davis; his BS from Excelsior College in Albany, New York; and his Master’s in Oncology and Hematology from University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha.
