Illinois native Colleen Bruhn is a third-generation nurse, following in the footsteps of her grandmother and great-grandmother. Ms. Bruhn received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis, Illinois. She practiced for a number of years as an RN before she returned to school to obtain her Nurse Practitioner degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Olivet, Illinois. She is board certified by the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center and has practiced medicine for over 10 years.As a myGeneration provider, Ms. Bruhn uses her practical and academic experience caring for the sometimes complex needs of senior patients. She enjoys her expanded role helping patients manage their chronic conditions. Ms. Bruhn creates partnership with patients that focuses on lifestyle changes including a good diet and plenty of exercise as well as compliance to medications to enjoy the best quality of life. When she is not working, Ms. Bruhn spends her time with her husband and their infant son and dog, Bubba. She also enjoys being in nature hiking, trying new restaurants, and she also enjoys reading.
