Bernadette Santos joined Intermountain Healthcare because she wanted to be part of a reputable healthcare organization that provides excellent primary care for both patients and employees. She enjoys working in obstetrics because it gives her the opportunity to be part of one of the most special journeys in her patients’ lives.
Ms. Santos is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). She is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation, AWHONN fetal heart monitoring and advanced fetal heart monitoring, and is a certified lactation consultant.
Ms. Santos went back to school once her children were grown to earn her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree from University of Nevada Las Vegas and went on to obtain her master of science in nursing (MSN) degree from Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana while working full-time. Before joining the Intermountain Women’s Health team, she served for five years as a labor and delivery nurse and in the newborn nursery at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Growing up in Hawaii, Ms. Santos performed professionally as a hula and Tahitian dancer. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, swimming and watching movies.
