A native of Colombia, Aysa Marcela Chavarria grew up with a mother who worked as a nurse assistant. It was her mother’s servant attitude of always helping others that set the example for Ms. Chavarria to to pursue a career in nursing.
After obtaining her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, Ms. Chavarria remained in Colombia for several years practicing as a registered nurse (RN) before moving to the United States. She arrived in Nevada in 2010 and worked as an RN while pursuing her master’s degree in nursing, which she obtained from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2016.
Today, Ms. Chavarria specializes in senior care and serves a broad spectrum of patients, drawing on her experience in long-term care, medical/surgical, intensive care, and trauma units. She believes that helping to improve her primary care patients’ lives is a small way in which she helps to improve the world. Ms. Chavarria is bilingual and helps patients in English or Spanish.
In her free time, Ms. Chavarria enjoys playing with and reading to her daughter. She also loves to sing (and is pretty good at it too). To keep life balanced, she prioritizes physical activity for both fitness and stress relief – whether it’s a long walk or practicing yoga.
