Annie Martin joined Intermountain Healthcare because she wanted to find a nurturing and supportive work environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth. She is motivated by three things: doing a great job, continuing to improve within her role, and continuing to contribute and add value to the organization.
Ms. Martin enjoys working with geriatric patients because of their inspiring influence. She appreciates that these patients show her what matters in life with their well-seasoned perspective. She finds them incredibly gracious and enjoys building deep and meaningful connections with each one. She also enjoys the challenges that working with these complex senior care cases offers as a way to hone her critical thinking skills.
Before joining Intermountain Healthcare, Ms. Martin worked as an RN in the Surgical-Trauma ICU at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. There she saw many debilitating, chronic conditions and this inspired her to become more proactive rather than reactive with her patients.
Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Portland and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice through the University of South Alabama.
