Health Care Quarterly Interview with Dr. Judith Ford

Seniors are among the most vulnerable groups who fall susceptible to the flu, which is why the importance of vaccinations cannot be taken lightly. Last year, Southern Nevada Health District reported that nearly two out of every three confirmed cases of the flu were contracted by people over the age of 50. While getting a vaccination does not guarantee that a person will not contract the influenza virus, it does diminish the chances of getting it; and if a person who has been vaccinated does get the flu, the impact should not be as severe. In this article, Intermountain Health provider, Dr. Judith Ford, advises that all adults should receive the influenza vaccination as soon as it is made available to increase their chances of staying healthy this flu season in addition to making sanitary habits a part of their daily routine.
